ANGMAR

Finnish black metal band. The band started in 1994/95 under the name Frost, and they released 4 song rehearsal-demo called "Darkness Will be Eternal" in 1995. The music was much more primitive and raw back then. They changed their name to Angmar in 1997. The name is taken from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings: The realm of the Witch-king (the Lord of the Nazgûl) in the far north of the Misty Mountains; Meaning: Probably 'Land (literally 'home') of Iron', but 'Land of Oppression' is a less likely alternative.
