The band's early material had a death metal sound to it.

In the beginning of December 1999 Pete was arrested and charged with attempt to kill a man with an axe. Later he was found guilty and sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison. He was released in March 2002. Grimn'r also served a few months in jail for violence charges in early 2001.
